This is accomplished using the knowledge of epochs, which are the instants of significant excitation of the vocal tract system. The method to extract the epochs from speech is based on the properties of the group-delay fuctions. Naturaless is preserved since significant portion of the excitation information is retained in the form of Linear Prediction (LP) residual. The technique will be illustrated with a few audio demonstrations.
