"Introduction into Multilingual Speech Recognition"

In this talk I will give an overview over our research activities in the
area of Multilingual Speech Recognition, including multilingual acoustic
modeling, rapid language adaptation, and new trends in using other-than-
phonemes-as-recognition-units.
I will also discuss challenges and solutions for implementing multilingual
speech interfaces. With respect to a tighter coupling of speech recognition
and translation I will present an approach to correct disfluencies in
spontaneous speech.
